US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Kosnett has announced that Jeff Hovenier has been nominated by President Joe Biden as the new Ambassador to Kosovo.
Through a Twitter post, Kosnetti congratulated Jeff Hovenier on his new post.
“Congratulations to my colleague and friend Jeff Hovenier on his nomination as the next US Ambassador to Kosovo,” Kosnetti wrote.
Who is the new US Ambassador to Kosovo?
Jeffrey M. Hovenier, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Consul, currently serves as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, where he served as Charge d’Affaires from August 2018 to July 2019 Prior to that, he was Acting Head of Mission and Consul for Political Affairs at the US Embassy in Berlin, Germany. He also served on U.S. missions in Croatia, Greece, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru; in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE); and the staff of the UN Special Envoy for the Status of Kosovo. His duties in Washington include serving as Director for Central and Southeast European Affairs at the National Security Council and at the State Department Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs with responsibility for NATO and Central European Affairs. He holds a Master’s degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He speaks German, Greek, Croatian and Spanish. / Voice
