The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament in Kosovo, Haki Abazi says for “Balkan Talks” in Euronews Albania that Kosovo is a party in dialogue and that Prime Minister Kurti has talked to achieve mutual recognition.

“Kosovo has its own position and is a party to the dialogue. We are talking to reach an agreement on relations with Serbia, in the sense that we have mutual recognition and not through dialogue, on internal issues and the status of Kosovo. “The four points are intended to be considered an equal dialogue between the two parties”, said Abazi.

He says that Kosovo in the second round of talks will continue to present itself as a constructive party and will continue to seek mutual recognition.

“We will be a constructive party and will work intensively to reach a final agreement. We can no longer continue to be held hostage to Serbia’s demands, as long as we are left out of visa liberalization, out of the enlargement strategy and out of the possibilities of a stability that encourages foreign investors. “Kurti’s conversation in Kosovo has gone through what we can do, when Kosovo’s independence will be recognized,” said the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament in Kosovo, Haki Abazi.

For Mr. Abazi, the request of Prime Minister Kurti for the signing of a peace agreement will serve for the functioning of Kosovo like any other independent state.

“This means that it must be shown as the will of the two states to be willing to move on to another phase of cooperation and that they do not have claims of rising tensions or attacks that they may have. I think that after 21 years of freedom and liberation of Kosovo, it is time for Kosovo to be allowed to function like any other independent state. “It must sign a peace agreement with Serbia, which could jeopardize internal security,” he said.

While requesting the establishment of bilateral reciprocity, Abazi said that this point has to do with an equality reciprocity. According to him, Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac could not be less important as people than Serbs in Kosovo.

“In fact, this point has to do with a reciprocity of equality, as the Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac can not be less important as people than the Serbs in Kosovo. “If Serbia is satisfied with the rights it has given to the Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, then it will have to be enough for the Kosovar state to give the same standard to the Serbs in Kosovo,” Abazi said.

When asked by journalist Franko Egro what position the Kosovo government will take on the study of Lake Ujman sent by the US, given that the “Vetëvendosje Movement” has opposed the “Washington Agreement”, for Abazi it is not an agreement.

“No one can justify at any moment the fact that it has become a monator from that commitment in Washington for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence and the attempt to join international organizations. These are mistakes that were made in an electoral time in the US. It is not an agreement, as it has not been signed by both parties in the same form and has not been ratified in the Kosovo parliament to be made according to the Constitution “International agreement,” – he said, adding that: “Feasibility study that has come to us will be taken very seriously and will be analyzed in detail.

The Albanian member of the Croatian Parliament, Ermina Lekaj Përlaskaj reacted after a statement by the former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hisen Berisha, that Croatia has offered guarantees for the release of Hashim Thaçi.

“I have no official information or confirmation that Croatia would offer guarantees for the release of the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi. I have never said that the Croatian authorities were working on this, but that there was no official information about it. “Serbian media intentionally or unintentionally misinterpreted me”, said Lekaj Përlaskaj for “Jutarnji”.

She further said that she does not know where Berisha got this information.

“Hashim Thaçi is not a citizen of Croatia and as a lawyer, I am not familiar with the legal model according to which Croatia could be a guarantor for a person who is not a citizen of it”, said Përlaskaj. / RTV21
