Amélie de Montchalin, Minister of State for European Affairs, affiliated with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will receive Jadranka Joksimovic, Serbia’s Minister for European Integration, on March 3rd.

The meeting is an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations that have been boosted by President Macron’s visit to Belgrade on July 15-16, 2019. The two ministers will also discuss the negotiations on Serbia’s EU accession as part of the discussions under the Council of the European Union on reforming the accession process to make it more credible, engaging and reversible.

France supports and stands by Serbia’s strategic decision to join the European Union as it continues to support its efforts to implement the necessary reforms, particularly with regard to the rule of law, which is at the heart of the European project.

Clément Beaune, Minister of State for European Affairs, who is affiliated with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, met on February 8 by video conference with Jadranka Joksimovic, Serbian Minister for European Integration.

The Minister of State reiterated France’s support for Serbia’s strategic decision in support of EU accession and for its efforts to implement the necessary reforms, particularly with regard to the rule of law, which is at the heart of the European project. Reforming the accession process makes this process more credible, engaging and reversible.

Finally, regarding the response to Covid-19, the Minister of State reiterated France’s desire to increase EU support to neighboring countries.
