The armband that Cristiano Ronaldo threw to the ground during a 2022 World Cup qualifier last week was auctioned in Serbia to support a campaign that sought to raise around $ 3 million for childcare.

Six-month-old Gavrila Djurdjevic, who lives in the village of Cumic near the city of Kragujevac in central Serbia, suffers from muscular atrophy of the spine and requires expensive treatment.

His family will receive the proceeds after the armband was sold for $ 75,000, despite organizers telling Tass that the grand total had reached around $ 12.7 million at a time before it was determined that the astronomical early Top bidders did not have the funds.

“We couldn’t believe that some people who didn’t even know us would take the armband and auction it off and help our child,” Gavrilo’s mother Nevena told Reuters.

The quick-thinking firefighter Djordje Vukicevic took the fresh souvenir from the sports icon and later decided to donate it to Djurdjevic.

“Ronaldo was excited,” recalled Vukicevic. “He threw the armband. It fell right next to me. The entire crew agreed that it would go [to help] little Gavrilo. “

The raging Ronaldo threw the strap off after resenting an absurd position when an assistant referee failed to see that his shot, which would have earned Portugal a late win in Belgrade, clearly crossed the finish line.

After Serbia clearly hacked the ball, the incredulous captain ran to the assistant on the near side to protest vigorously that the goal should have been forgiven. He received a booking from the referee, for which Portugal boss Fernando Santos later apologized for the terrible decision.

Santos’ skipper left the pitch seconds before the end, still clearly angry, as he tossed the band onto the pitch on the way there in an angry expression of burning disgust.

Djurdjevic’s mother said the campaign has raised nearly $ 600,000 so far.

Dear mothers, children need germs, not antibiotics!

Yes, it is important to wash your hands.

It is very important during the cold and flu season, and especially if you visit someone in the hospital.

The problem is that parents have taken the issue of cleanliness too far.

New science shows that removing small organisms called germs with hand cleaners, anti-bacterial soaps and liberal doses of antibiotics is having a profoundly negative effect on our children’s immune system. – says microbiologist Marie-Claire Arrieta, co-author of a new book called “Let them eat and: Save our children from an over-cleansed world.”

Arrieta, who is a professor at the University of Calgary, along with her co-author, microbiologist Brett Finlay, say we are raising our children in a cleaner, more hyper-hygienic environment than ever before.

They say that over-purity, as we are doing, is contributing to the emergence of a range of chronic conditions, ranging from simple allergies to obesity.

You have long heard that overuse of antibiotics can lead to the emergence of bacterial-resistant infections in hospitals, something we associate with older people and other people with weakened immunity.

But the implications are much deeper and broader than that.

So what is the connection between microbes and the development of the immune system in childhood?

When we are born, we have no germs.

Our immune system is underdeveloped.

But once the germs appear, they start working on our immune system.

Without germs, our immune system can not fight infections.

For example, studies show that children who grow up in rural areas are much less likely to develop asthma.

Of course we can not all move to a farm, but what is suggested is living in an environment that is not overcrowded is better.

In addition, studies show that cleaning everything that touches a child’s mouth increases the likelihood of asthma.

All of this highlights the fact that we are living too clean, to the point that it is not helpful.

Hygiene is vital to our health.

We should not stop washing our hands, but we should know when and how to do it.

When you find your child playing with and in the garden, there is no need to clean it right away.

A balance must be struck between preventing infection, and exposure to microbes that are beneficial.

Jurgen Klopp has given an emotional tribute to his mother Elisabeth after she died today at the age of 81.

The Liverpool manager will not be able to attend the funeral of his late mother due to travel restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Klopp had not been able to visit his mother in Germany since her 80th birthday and will return to his homeland for a memorial service when he is allowed to travel, KosovaPress reports.

The Reds coach told Schwarzenegger: “It meant everything to me. “She was a real mother in the best sense of the word.”

“As a devout Christian, I know she is in a better place now.”

The German technician further added: “Not being at the funeral is due to terrible times. “As soon as conditions allow, we will do a wonderful memorial service.”
