A tragic accident happened this morning in the village of Aqareva in Skenderaj.

The news was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Police for the Mitrovica region, Ilmi Prekazi, who said that according to the circumstances it is more likely that the victim committed suicide, reports Zeri.info.

“The case was received at 06:43 and the victim is 36 years old. The event took place in the village of Aqareva in Skenderaj. The police received information that a person was hit by the train, the unit responded in that case immediately, when they went there the doctor found that the person is without signs of life. “We thought it was a fatal accident, according to the circumstances it is more likely to be suicide”, declared Prekazi. / Voice

An elderly couple from Skenderaj were left without electricity after KEDS cut off their electricity due to their debt.

After reporting in the media, today this couple was visited by the mayor of Skenderaj, Bekim Jashari, who announced that they are now residents of the Home for the Elderly without Family Care in Skenderaj, reports Zeri.info.

Jashari has indicated that this was done taking into account their health condition, inability to care for each other, poor housing conditions and the need for their care by others with food, hygiene and medical treatment.

Bekim Jashari, has formalized today his re-election for Mayor of Skënderaj, thus aspiring for another term in the municipal leadership.

Jashari for Klan Kosova expressed his conviction that there will be winners from the October 17 race in the local elections, as he says this was proved by the participants in the opening ceremony, lining up in government with clean hands.

164 students from Skenderaj have signed today the municipal scholarship contracts in the amount of 300 euros, and in the coming days will be awarded several scholarships from donor support.

The Mayor of Skenderaj, Bekim Jashari, emphasized that as a municipal government they have given priority to supporting the youth, creating better conditions for education, development of sports, cultural and recreational activities and supporting young people in implementing the ideas of their creative through grant support for start-ups and business expansion.

Jashari said that next year in cooperation with the World Bank and the Ministry of Local Government will be allocated $ 250,000.00 for the youth of the municipality.

“Through this very important project for the future of our youth we will create new jobs and prepare young people with various trainings,” he said.

Sami Lushtaku will be officially a candidate for mayor of Skenderaj, from the ranks of PDK.

This was announced by the Skenderaj branch of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, through an announcement on ‘Facebook’.
