AT LEAST 100 SERBIANS “TRAPPED” IN SICILY: Etna volcano erupted – all flights canceled

At least 100 Serbian citizens were trapped in Sicily after the eruption of Mount Etna

Due to this accident, all airlines were forced to cancel almost 80 flights from Catania that were planned for today.

As it is known, the passengers have been taken care of and the only thing left for them is for the situation to calm down and the sky to be suitable for flying.

Etna, the most active volcano in Europe, erupted on Sunday and spewed ash on Catania, the largest city in eastern Sicily.

Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) said clouds and rainy days hampered monitoring of the eruption, once a spectacular display of fire and lava.

– The ash fell on Catania and on a town on the slopes of Mount Etna. There were no reports of injuries. Monitoring has recorded evidence of increased tremor activity in recent days – the institute announced.
