Osmani appoints eight members of the CEC, while for two others he addresses the Constitutional Court

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani today, in accordance with the constitutional and legal competencies, has appointed eight members of the CEC.

These appointments are made in accordance with the proposals of political entities and as provided by applicable law.

The press release states that there is an ambiguity of the constitutional provisions for the appointment of the other two members, where as a result the President addressed the Constitutional Court with a request for interpretation of Article 139, paragraph 4 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo by was based on Article 84 as well as Article 113 of the Constitution.

Respectively, the request for interpretation addresses the ambiguities raised in two cases. First, the interpretation is required, in the spirit of the Constitution, of the notions “group” or “groups” interpreted together with the word “may” (in Article 139 (4), in case we have less than six political entities represented in Assembly and which do not have the right to participate in the allocation of reserved seats and when one group wins over 50% of the vote in the election.

“Secondly, clarifications are required regarding the appointment of a representative from the Bosniak community when we have three political entities in the Assembly which represent this community and have an equal number of deputies represented in the Assembly,” said the announcement made by the Presidency.

Further, the announcement states that “upon receiving the response from the Constitutional Court, the President of the Republic of Kosovo will take the necessary steps to appoint the two remaining members of the CEC.

The oath of the CEC members will be made during the following days “. / Telegraphy /

MCYS appoints the former LVV candidate for deputy in the Steering Council of TKK

By decision of the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, the members of the Steering Council of the National Theater of Kosovo were dismissed, and seven of its new members were immediately appointed.

This was announced by the MCYS, which announced that the new Steering Council, with a 4-year mandate, has the following composition: Armend Smajli, Ben Apolloni, Gresa Pallaska, Rebeka Qena, Shkurte Aliu, Visare Aliu and Brikena Mulliqi, reports Zeri .info.

“The new government treats with a special priority the national cultural institutions. Today’s decision is the first step for the construction of a new vision for the Theater of Kosovo”, it is said in the press release of MCYS.

In the coming days, the Ministry has said that it will take other actions for national cultural institutions aimed at increasing financial and institutional sustainability, program and artistic independence, audience development, professional capacity building and international presentation of local artistic product.

We recall that the Minister of Culture, Hajrulla Çeku, during the election campaign of the February 14 elections, had said that he would departmentalize cultural institutions.

But, it seems that the promise went in vain with the appointment of the director Shkurtë Aliu in the KD of TKK, which is also the highest governing body of TKK.

Aliu is a member of the ruling party, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, to which Minister Çeku also belongs.

She had run for MP in the 2017 parliamentary elections, but had not managed to get enough votes to enter the Assembly.

Agron Shala, Ramadan Musliu, Feim Maliqaj, Besim Rexhaj, Mustafë Halili, Samka Ferri and Ismet Azemi were appointed to the TKK KD last October by the former government. / Voice

Molliqaj: Kurti opposed KLA surrender in The Hague, now appoints Special witness as minister

The chairman of the PSD, Dardan Molliqaj, has published an old statement of the Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who was then an MP, where he said that the Special Court should not be established.

Kurti said VV would never hand over the KLA to The Hague.

“VV will be in power tomorrow. “VV is the subject that will not hand you over to the Special Court, because we do not recognize the Special Court”, said Kurti at that time.

To this video, Molliqaj also linked the statement of Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla, who at the time said that she would submit materials to Specials.

“Yes. “I have written materials and evidence”, she said at the time, among other things.

Molliqaj said that now we can not expect the government to oust former KLA leaders.

“How can we expect interest in KLA fighters from this government, which appoints Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister someone like Donika Gërvalla, who has publicly indicated that she has filed files against KLA soldiers,” he wrote.

“This is the Kurti government transformed from not handing over the fighters to the Court to handing over the files against them”, added Molliqaj./express
