Some facts about Prishtina - Bota Sot

Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo. The city is the community and the capital of the District of Prishtina.

The Municipality of Prishtina has a population of 198,214 inhabitants according to the 2011 census.

Here are 6 facts you did not know:

1. Toponomastika has not yet explained the origin of the name Prishtina. There are some hypotheses based on etymology, but that do not shed final light on this issue. There are some assumptions that are based on the Illyrian source of the word, or the Latin one (pristinus – former).

2. The total number of businesses registered in the Municipality of Prishtina, according to the type of property is 8,735 businesses with 75,089 employees. Exactly the number of employees is not known, due to the fact that the registration is already in the competence of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, respectively the Business Registration Agency.

3. Trade is the most preferred business in the capital of Kosovo.

4. The Municipality of Prishtina has a total of 48 villages. In addition to Albanians in the Municipality of Prishtina live some other communities such as: Serbs, Turks, Bosniaks, Roma, Ashkali, etc.

5. Since December 2013, the mayor of the capital of Kosovo, Prishtina, is Shpend Ahmeti.

"Termokos" closes the heating season - Bota Sot

“Termokos” has announced that today has ended the 2020/2021 season.

Through a press release, “Termokos” has evaluated this season as the most successful.

Also according to this enterprise, during the heating season 2020/2021 a series of successes have been recorded in many aspects of the operation of the enterprise.

“The production of heating energy was 15.7% higher, while the delivery of thermal energy was 20.5% higher than last season. Even the billing for the 2020/2021 season has been over 10% higher than in the previous season. The number of customers this heating season has increased to 688 new customers, with a heating area of ​​about 49 thousand m / 2 more than in the previous heating season. “Otherwise, this is the fifth season, at the end of which, due to the cold weather and at the request of consumers, the supply of heat has continued for an additional 12 days,” the statement said.

The Ring of Prishtina - Bota Sot is unlocked

After several months of work and commitment, yesterday the Government of Kosovo took a decision and put into use the Municipality of Prishtina, the plot next to the railway (property of Infrakos).

The acting Minister of Infrastructure, Arban Abrashi, wrote on Facebook that this decision paves the way for the construction of a central ring, which connects Arberia with the roundabout in Lakrishte, a project that has been neglected for many years now.

“The construction of this ring road will significantly facilitate traffic in Pristina and will also develop some parts of Arberia.

“Thank you Infrakos of the Municipality for the excellent cooperation”, he wrote.
