“Aljbin Kurti made the decision to dismissed Đurićonly because he stood up for the Serbian people in the north of Kosovo and Metohija,” said Petković at a press conference in the Palace of Serbia.

He said that the reason for Đurić’s suspension is that yesterday he stood up for the defense and protection of his police officers, who, together with the mayors of four municipalities in the north of the Republic of Kosovo, decided not to issue written reprimands to drivers with KM license plates.

Petković stated that the special envoy of the European Union for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajčak, was also informed about this.

“Kurti’s idea is to trample on everything we agreed on in Brussels, and I conveyed that to Lajcak,” said Petkovic.

He said that there is nothing more natural than the decision made by Đurić not to write reprimands, because, as he stated, Đurić wanted to preserve the competences of the regional directorate in the north, but also the order of the Brussels Agreement, especially when it comes to the police.

“In addition, Đurić is charged with some kind of criminal act of sabotage and calling for resistance. It is not clear to me what sabotage is and what the so-called call for resistance is, that Đurić said at the press conference that he did not want to, nor was there which of the Serbian policemen, to participate in the persecution of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, because that is not the goal of the existence of the police in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, as agreed in point nine of the Brussels Agreement,” Petković said.

He asked what was disputed in the fact that Đurić said that he did not want to participate in Aljbin Kurti’s decisions, which are political and aimed at attacking the Serbian people in the North of Kosovo and Metohija.

“Not a single Serbian policeman will participate in Aljbin Kurti’s violent acts and stop his neighbors, nor the parents of children who transport children to school in those cars with KM plates, or stop drivers who drive people in ambulances,” said Petković.

He added that he conveyed to Lajcak everything that was happening and that he told him that this was the beginning of the dismantling of the Brussels order in Kosovo and Metohija.

“Kurti has no right to replace Nenad Đurić, given that the director of the Regional Political Directorate in the North is appointed and elected by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, that is, he is proposed by the four mayors of the municipalities in the north of KIM,” said Petković.

He asked what was the mistake of Đurić, who said that Pristina illegally sent Albanian police patrols to the north yesterday.

“She has nothing to look for in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, because there is a Serbian traffic police there who have their own responsibilities and do their job. They did it outside of their responsibilities and without any notice from the Directorate in the north. What did Đurić do wrong when he said that outside of his knowledge of that same directorate in the north are illegally building four bases in the terrestrial security zone,” said Petković.

A call to the international community to react

He added that the Serbian police officers are there to protect public order and peace and that they are not there to be abused by Pristina for some political goals, among which, as he said, is to bring the Serbian people in Kosovo to the beggar’s stick and squeeze out the state through re-registration. He says that in his conversation with Lajcak, he also asked whether it is even possible to discuss anything after the violation of all agreements.
