British authorities confirm that this Monday, around 430 refugees crossed the English Channel illegally.

According to PA news, this figure represents the new record of entries for a day.

“There is an unacceptable increase in small boat crossings across the canal due to an influx of illegal immigrants across Europe,” said British border authorities.

“We urge these refugees to seek asylum in the first safe country in which they find themselves, and not to risk their lives by undertaking such dangerous crossings. “Meanwhile, we continue to pursue criminals behind these illegal schemes,” they added.

The United Kingdom wants to submit to parliament a draft law on National Borders, which if supported and entered into force, will be considered illegal and punishable by 4 years, coming to the UK illegally.

At the same time, this law stipulates that asylum seekers be sent to one of the “safe third world countries” so that they can apply there.

The English Channel or the English Channel is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, so even this attempt to enter the UK illegally is said to be extremely dangerous.

However, the number of those who undertake this perilous journey is growing more and more. /euronews.al
