What happened at the meeting of the Executive Committee of FFK and how did Eroll Salihu escape from dismissal?

DETAILS

The President of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi and the Secretary General, Eroll Salihu, have managed once again within a few months to overcome a major crisis between them, which was expected to result in the dismissal of Salihu from the post of FFK secretary -së.

Yesterday (June 15) was held the meeting of the Executive Committee of FFK, from which was announced the dismissal of Salihu after deep and harsh quarrels with the president of FFK, Agim Ademi. But, this did not happen.

Even, in the announcement of FFK after the meeting of the Executive Committee, the case “Ademi-Salihu” is not even mentioned, but in the photo from this meeting, between Salihu and Adem is seen the member Vjollca Krasniqi, the only woman member of the Executive Committee.

“Zeri” learns that the item on the agenda at the last meeting was the dismissal of Eroll Salihu.

Otherwise, “Zeri” has exclusively reported that Eroll Salihu was expected to be fired by the EC.

Salihu himself had stated to the media after the report in question, confirming the disagreements.

“There are some disagreements in competencies between the chairman and the secretary. “Tomorrow the meeting of the Committee will be held and we will discuss”, stated Eroll Salihu for ‘Blic’.

But, sources close to the developments in FFK say that Ademi and Salihu have achieved a “forced peace” after being afraid of each other for publishing abuses that have been made within the football institution in recent years and for the abuse of official positions. .

It is learned that Salihu sent a letter to the EC members before the meeting took place.

It is even said that both of them have been warned and threatened by each other beforehand for publishing many things that the public does not know and that have happened within the institution of Kosovar football.

One of these secrets has to do with a letter that came from UEFA a year ago, through which the Ethics Committee requested from Ademi evidence of innocence due to the trial against him, in which Ademi was also sentenced a prison sentence, but since then the Appeal has already sent his case for retrial.

On the contrary, UEFA had made it clear that it would not recognize Adem’s mandate, which was kept secret not only by Adem, but also by Salihu.

In order not to make the worst happen, each of them has released “pe” to achieve reconciliation and continuation of cooperation, writes “Metro”.

This is the second time in a short time that Ademi and Salihu are going through major crises, in which it is said that there have been almost physical confrontations.

In February, there were reports of a physical clash between them, but Ademi and Salihu through a joint statement had denied the clash, but had confirmed the quarrels, disagreements and even high-pitched debates between them. /Zeri.info

The Legislation Committee discusses the evictions of property occupants

The Committee on Legislation, Mandates, Immunities, Rules of Procedure of the Assembly has reviewed the annual report of the Kosovo Agency for Comparison and Verification of Property for 2020, where the evictions of property occupants were discussed.

The chairman of the committee, Ardian Rrustemi presented the agenda items, where the deputies stopped to discuss more about the third item on the agenda “Review of the annual report of the Kosovo Agency for Comparison and Verification of Property for 2020”, where the director Naser Shala reported about this report and the representatives of AKKVP.

“The mandate of the Agency is that it is known that there will be differences and inconsistencies in the entire work of the PRCA. We do not have any forecasts and how long a comparison of a document will take, but I think we will have a lot of work, once the Law is passed in the Assembly with the implementation of the documents and there is no deadline for how long this mandate of the agency will last “, said one of the representatives of the Agency.

Doarsa Kica-Xhelili, member from VV said that she is very unclear in the given report, and the evidence is not appropriate regarding the cases and the submission of requests within the execution of the decisions of the Agency.

“I do not understand the report, it is unclear how much I am reading and deciphering it, there are no additional details and clarifications either with the submission of requests or the execution of decisions and evictions of property occupants”, said Kica-Xhelili./EO

Hungary: Anti-torture committee observed decent conditions in transit zones, but criticises treatment of irregular migrants when “pushed back” to Serbia

The Council of Europe Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) published a report on its recent visit to Hungary from October 20-26, 2017, together with the response from the Hungarian authorities (see also the main findings of the CPT in the summary of the report).

The main aim was to investigate the treatment and conditions of detention of foreigners detained under the Aliens Act. The CPT delegation visited two transit zones in Röszke and Tompa on the border with Serbia and several other institutions and interviewed people on the Serbian side of the border who had recently been “pushed back” to Serbia.

Although the delegation did not receive allegations of staff ill-treatment at any of the facilities visited, many interviewed foreigners who had been arrested in Hungary and escorted through the border fence into Serbia by the Hungarian police through the border fence shortly before the delegation’s visit, they claimed had been physically abused by Hungarian police officers in connection with their arrest and their return through the border fence (push-backs).

Fourth Steering Committee Meeting of the Anti-trafficking Action in Serbia

The action “Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Serbia” took place in its 4th meeting of the steering committee with the participation of the National Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Mitar Vertreterurašković, representatives of the Council of Europe, the delegation of the European Union in Serbia, line ministries and the state Labor Inspectorate and civil society organizations involved in and benefiting from the activities.

Mitar Đurašković briefed the committee on the latest developments in the country and in particular on the upcoming adoption of action plans and measures to combat trafficking in human beings for the period 2021-2022, the increase in the number of identified victims and convictions for the crime of human trafficking for labor exploitation . This is a consequence of the increased capacities of the beneficiaries of the action and the compensation of the victims of human trafficking. Mr Đurašković highlighted several issues that deserve further attention, such as the need to better reflect gender specificities in anti-trafficking policies and measures, the need to better protect victims’ rights, including the right to compensation.

Maja Ilić, representative of the labor inspectorate, stressed that all labor inspectors in Serbia had basic training and were equipped with tools to identify signs of human trafficking and labor exploitation. Milja Krivokuća, representative of the Ministry of Education, announced that a working group was recently set up with the support of the measure to revise the existing indicators for the preliminary identification of children, potential victims of human trafficking. Aleksandra Ljubojevic from the Center for the Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking said that although the center had reduced its capacity due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was still working on the professional development of its staff and working with other actors to combat human trafficking.

The action has also helped legal professionals (judges, prosecutors and law students) learn more about human trafficking and ensure the protection of victims’ rights. It has given grants to civil society organizations to run awareness campaigns targeting the general public and some particularly vulnerable categories of exploitation (children, youth, construction workers) through social media and meeting in local communities to reach as many people as possible.

The Steering Committee received a short presentation of the 10th Annual Report of the Council of Europe’s Expert Group on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA). After taking stock of the activities and results since the last meeting in October 2020, the upcoming activities in 2021 were announced and the Steering Committee was very satisfied and supported the action in terms of its relevance, reactivity and cross-sectoral participation in the fight against trafficking in human beings and the protection of human health Victims’ rights in Serbia.

The action “Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Serbia” is part of the “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey II” program, a cooperation initiative of the Council of Europe co-financed and implemented by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
