The Basic Court of Prishtina has set April 6 as the date for holding the initial hearing in the case of Liburn Ali and others who are being accused of abuse of office.

The spokesperson of the Court of Prishtina, Milinda Gashi confirmed for Express that the judge of the case, Alban Ajvazi, has set April 6 as the date of holding the initial hearing against the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Liburn Aliu.

“The hearing is scheduled for April 6 at 10:00. “This was done with the decision of the judge of the case, Alban Ajvazi”, she said.

The Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu and several other officials are accused of the criminal offense of abuse of office during the time he was director of the Directorate of Urbanism in the Municipality of Prishtina.

Meanwhile, the allegations against him were denied by Minister Aliu himself. He said he was not aware that there was an indictment against him.

The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina had reacted to this statement of Ali.

The prosecution has denied Minister Aliu’s allegations that he was not provided with the indictment against him.

“The allegations that the defendant LA was not provided with an Indictment by the Prosecution, do not stand, because if we refer to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kosovo, the Indictment is submitted to the competent court in as many copies as there are defendants and their defense counsel and an additional copy for the court “, the Prosecution emphasizes.

“Also, the complete case of the investigation is sent to the court by the state prosecutor, from article 242, paragraph 1 of the CPC. At the moment when the indictment is sent to the court, it is obliged to provide the parties in the procedure with the indictment. During the initial hearing, the single trial judge or the presiding judge shall provide a copy of the indictment to the defendant or defendants, if they have not previously received these copies of the indictment, Article 245, paragraph 2 of the CPC, ie. that the competent Court provides the parties with the Indictment ”, it is stated in the notification.
