The FBI searched Trump’s home in Florida

Donald Trump’s famous residence, Mar-a-Lago in Florida, was the subject of a raid by FBI agents, the former US president announced.

According to some sources, Trump was in New York at the time of the raid.

He claims that “a large number of agents” raided the property and ransacked it, even opening his safe.

Investigations are being conducted against the former US president related to the intrusion of protesters on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, as well as suspicions that he kept some official documents, including confidential ones, even though the law requires that the president must hand over all papers to the National Archives after the end of his term of office.

Trump is convinced that the search has something to do with his intention to run for the third time for the US president in the elections in November 2024.

“These are dark times for our nation. Such raids only happen in Third World countries. Unfortunately, the USA has become such a country with corruption at an unprecedented level,” said Trump.

Sources close to Trump confirmed anonymously to the media that the search was carried out on Monday afternoon, that the agents took away several boxes of documents which they consider to be “very few” and that there was no rummaging, no door breaking or any form of violence.

White House sources say they had no information that the FBI might search the former president’s home.

By the way, the head of the FBI is Christopher Wray, who was appointed to that position by Donald Trump towards the end of his term.

The Ministry of Justice, which is responsible for this case, did not make statements to the media.
