Abdixhiku: When I took over the leadership of the LDK, it was on the verge of closing down in half of the municipalities – Latest News
The President of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has stated that at the time when he took the position of party leader, he found the LDK in an extremely difficult situation
He said that this political entity in half of the municipalities was on the verge of extinction.
“I took the leadership of the LDK in an extremely difficult finding, at only 12 percent. I found the LDK in half of Kosovo’s municipalities on the verge of extinction; with numbers gravitating at 5, 6 and 7 percent. Can you guess? “For a state-building party, the first in Kosovo, to have half the country on the verge of extinction is both tragic and unfortunate to start a job,” Abdixhiku told Express.
He said that during visits to party branches, he found the tendency to normalize the loss.
“And not only that. During my first visit visits, I found a tendency to normalize the loss. Like third and fourth place, single-digit percentages in some branches were already normal. “So normal that the only concern of the remaining structures was the choice of dilemmas for coalitions with the former and the latter – but never to see themselves as the former, and unfortunately not even the latter.”
“Thus, neither I nor any devout activist can accept the LDK. The original LDK seat is the first. This goal may take time – and of course it will take time – but under it we can not aim.
Abdixhiku blames the old LDK leadership for the party’s downfall. He says that they normalized the loss, they wanted to be accommodated in government positions, even though they did not have the support of the people.
“Therefore, all isolated internal critics and permanent external skeptics, who demand continuity of LDK policy-making; the same policy that brought us to 12 percent and on the verge of extinction in half of Kosovo, have largely removed the voice of the LDK in the last Assembly.
“The same who have previously removed the voice with citizens; that have enabled the creation of an absolute power of 50 plus percent; the same who for the sole purpose have had accommodation in any government and power position even though with minimal civic support; the same who to this day bear no responsibility but teach how to make opposition – they must understand that the time for such a policy is over. I am not here to accommodate the past; who was right and who was wrong. I am to build the future. From a difficult position; very difficult. “Whoever is not willing to help realize this vision is better off not hindering – not that they have the potential to obstruct like that.”
