Memorandum signed for the restoration of the Hammam of Prishtina, Ahmeti: We want to return it to public space

The Municipality of Prishtina and the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) have signed a memorandum of understanding for co-financing the Hammam of Prishtina, reports Ekonomia Online.

The signing of this memorandum was done on Wednesday where the mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti was also present.

Shpend Ahmeti said that this agreement is a continuation of good cooperation with TIKA, which he considers as the easiest partners to cooperate.

“We are continuing the excellent cooperation we have with TIKA. We have learned the way and we know the way. TIKA is one of the easiest international partners that to date have responded to the Municipality of Prishtina in any request. After the toys in the city park, the interventions in some schools, the center for autism and Down syndrome, already after the request we made last year for 3 projects, today we signed the second project for the Hammam of Prishtina. In 2015, Turkish cultural heritage experts came and after the expertise, the vili project was done and it will cost around 1 million euros “, said Ahmeti

The head of Pristina said that the Hammam will be turned into a public space where various events will be held.

“This Hammam will be returned to its original form but it will not be a Hammam but we want to turn it into a public space where various events, conferences and lectures will be held.”
