At her meeting with Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković on Tuesday, President Katerina Sakellaropoulou expressed Greece’s commitment to strengthen strategic relations with Serbia and to support its EU accession course.
The meeting, which took place in the presence of the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, confirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries and their growing potential.
Sakellaropoulou reiterated that Greece strongly supports Serbia’s EU accession path and recalled that the enlargement of the EU to include the Western Balkans is a strategic goal, an immovable position first expressed at the 2003 Thessaloniki Summit.
Finally, President Selaković thanked his country for support during the devastating forest fires last summer.
