The Mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti on the International Day of Down Syndrome visited the children of the association in the capital.
Ahmeti, in a post on the social network Facebook, wrote that they still have a lot to do to reward the smile of people with Down Syndrome but he is happy that they have already advanced the works for the construction of the Autism and Down Syndrome Center in Pristina.
I am happy that we marked March 21 – World Down Syndrome Day together with the children of the association in Prishtina.
Not just acceptance, but respect, love, care, support and integration and inclusion in society for people with Down Syndrome are and should be our battles as a developed society.
We still have a lot to do to reward the smile of people with Down Syndrome but I am glad that the works for the construction of the Autism and Down Syndrome Center in Prishtina have already advanced.
This center will be a meeting place for this community and will provide support and specialized treatment, to develop their maximum potential towards a healthy, independent and inclusive life.
Work done with the heart brings a lot of smiles!
