According to the indictment, in the period from September 7 to 25, 2020, at three press conferences and during other publicly broadcast events, as well as by further distribution, Hisni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj disclosed information protected by the law on Specialized Chambers and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
They are charged with two counts of criminal offenses against public order and four counts of criminal offenses against the judiciary and public administration.
Gucati and Haradinaj were arrested in Pristina in September 2020, and the indictment against them was confirmed on December 11, 2020.
The first-instance verdict was pronounced on May 18, 2022, and both were found guilty of obstructing officials in the performance of their official duties, intimidation during criminal proceedings, and violating the confidentiality of the proceedings.
They were sentenced to four and a half years in prison which includes the time spent in custody.
Gucati and Haradinaj filed an appeal in June last year, and the appeal hearing was held on December 1 and 2, 2022.
The second-instance verdict is scheduled for February 2 at 2 p.m.
