Osmani: There is a Russian-Serbian tendency to damage the EU and NATO through the destabilization of Kosovo

The President of the country Vjosa Osmani has said that the recent attacks on public institutions in the north of the country prove that Serbia is the main source of destabilization in the region.

Osmani said that the Russian-Serbian tendency to damage the EU and NATO through destabilization in Kosovo is clearly visible.

“The international community should not ignore what is clearly seen – the Russian-Serbian tendency to destabilize our region, to damage the European Union and NATO, as a union and value system. In Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina the same destabilizing model is being used that Russia uses in the Baltic states, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. Therefore, it is time for the international community, first of all the EU and NATO member states, to see this danger and stop the Vuiqi regj regime from achieving its goal of creating a “Serbian world” that belongs to “the logic of the 90s in Serbia”, Osmani wrote on Facebook.

She also called on citizens, especially Kosovo Serbs, to reject “Serbia’s ominous scenarios”.

“Kosovo institutions will continue to be close to them, offering support and security from the criminal and illegal structures of Serbia,” said Osmani. / Voice

Vjosa Osmani: With the shelter of Afghans, Kosovo has shown NATO who their true friends are

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, spoke about the decision of Kosovo institutions to shelter Afghans in the country.

Invited to Columbia University in the US, Osmani said that they came to this decision for several reasons. According to her, one is the similar story that the country she represents has with Afghanistan.

“For us it was a moral obligation, it was very personal. What you saw while people were leaving, that scene of taking a small child over fences, just to save their lives, is exactly the scene you saw in the last war in Kosovo. So, this situation brought us back to the memories we went through, and for this reason we could not close the doors “, said Osmani, reports Klan Kosova.

The Kosovar head of state further said that the fact that the US asked Kosovo to shelter Afghan immigrants, according to her, shows the good relations they have with Kosovo.

On this occasion, Osmani said that he expects the support of the North Atlantic Alliance countries to join this organization.

“We have worked very closely with the Biden administration to ensure that this process of housing Afghan citizens goes as smoothly as possible, as well as with the NATO alliance. “I say it again, Kosovo has shown NATO who its true friends are, so I hope now that we will get the support of NATO members to join that organization.”

Osmani: We will remove the reciprocity for license plates as soon as Serbia does it

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, is continuing her stay in the United States of America.

On Friday she participated in a discussion forum organized by Columbia University.

There Osmani spoke on various topics related to Kosovo, most recently the launch of the application of reciprocity measure for vehicle license plates from Serbia.

According to the head of state, reciprocity is one of the most important principles in international relations.

“Reciprocity in trade or other measures is one of the healthiest principles of international relations, especially if you have waited for ten years for the rest to remove the barriers or blockages and the cost of the problem for every citizen going from Kosovo to Serbia.” she said.

Osmani, talking about this issue, also shared her experience of removing signs while traveling in Presevo.

“My husband comes from the Presevo Valley, when he visited our family, before I became president, we had to remove the registration plates, and then the Serbian police would bring other plates with Serbian letters, which said that they were test plates. Then when I gave him the ID, they issued me a letter, so they practically wanted to strip me of my identity as soon as I entered their country. And of course you had to pay to enter. This was very difficult, even in the technical aspect, the waiting queues were long, it also made the economic aspect difficult, because according to international organizations a truck to go from Kosovo to Serbia takes 33 times longer than a truck to come from “Serbia in Kosovo”, added Osmani.

She said that this measure will be removed the moment Serbia does the same.

“Serbia has been doing this for ten years and no one has raised their voice against it. “Undoubtedly, we will immediately remove these measures as soon as Serbia does the same,” she added. / insider

In this context, according to the announcement by the Presidency, it is said that Osmani sought the support of Prime Minister Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Kosovo’s efforts for membership in international organizations, as well as to exercise positive influence in the countries of the Islamic Organization, which have not recognized Kosovo’s independence to do so, given that Kosovo’s independence is an irreversible reality and serves stability and peace in the region.

She further expressed her readiness to deepen relations with Kuwait. In this context, she mentions the presence of KSF soldiers in the peacekeeping mission in Kuwait, who are in this country as part of the joint engagement with American soldiers from the Iowa Guard.

Osmani: BE t’i bëjë presion Serbisë që të ndalë provokimet ndaj Kosovës

President Vjosa Osmani reacted after the Serb protests in the north, saying that the establishment of reciprocity for license plates is in accordance with the Brussels agreements, which Serbia continues not to implement and at the same time called on the EU to put pressure on Serbia. to stop provocations against Kosovo.

She wrote in a Facebook post that the reciprocity in the issue of license plates, which was signed by both parties in Brussels, can not be seen as a tense and unilateral action, but an action towards the implementation of the agreements which should also require vet EU.

“Serbia is the one that has acted unilaterally since 2016 and in violation of the Brussels agreements, not Kosovo. Therefore, illegal Serbian structures, financed and receiving orders from the state of Serbia, are taking actions not only in violation of the Brussels agreements, but also endangering the safety of citizens and the stability of the region. “Furthermore, Serbia, according to the unchanged logic of the past, is also using Serbian state institutions to threaten our country”, writes Osmani.

Moreover, President Osmani says that no threat from Serbia hinders Kosovo’s determination to implement law enforcement, in accordance with its international obligations, for the benefit of all citizens, regardless of ethnicity.

“The decision of the Government of Kosovo to implement reciprocity with Serbia on vehicle license plates was taken as a result of the conclusion of the agreements of 2011 and 2016 on the freedom of movement of citizens between the two countries. Consequently, the decision ensures equal treatment and free movement of citizens of both countries. “The decision has been accepted and is being strictly implemented at all border points, with the exception of two points in the north, in which local Serbs are being abused by the Serbian Government and illegal structures there,” Osmani further wrote.

The first of our state has called on the European Union to put pressure on the government of Serbia to immediately stop provocations against Kosovo and the misuse for political purposes of Kosovo Serb citizens.

“Serbia’s destabilizing policy in Kosovo and the region and their hegemonic goals for the so-called ‘Serbian world’ are a return to their ’90s logic, which has brought many victims to our region,” Osmani concludes.

Full post:

In an excellent reception and substantive meeting with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier we discussed the relations between our two countries, which have been and will always remain strategic.

At the meeting I thanked President Steinmeier for the continued support of Germany in good and difficult days and in particular for the support towards the consolidation of the international subjectivity of our Republic. I stressed the great need for the continuation of this support in Kosovo’s path towards membership in important international organizations, the provision of new recognitions, as well as visa liberalization for our citizens.

We discussed various topics today and the focus was also on cooperation to increase German foreign investment. Furthermore, we discussed Kosovo’s commitment in the field of regional cooperation, as well as the interest in signing some important bilateral agreements with Germany.

Discussing the importance of regional cooperation for the European perspective of the Western Balkans, I stressed that the Berlin Process has been a powerful impetus in this regard.

I emphasized that any other idea that aims to be parallel to the EU enlargement and the Berlin Process, undermining the principle of equal participation of the Western Balkan states, will not have the support of the Republic of Kosovo.

Endless gratitude for the encouraging words and the constructive and extremely promising conversation!

The presence of Gërvalla and Kusar in the consultative meeting clashes Osmani with Abdixhik

Long-distance clash between President Vjosa Osmani and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku over a meeting called by the state for the possible postponement of local elections.

The presence of Minister Donika Gërvalla and MP Mimoza Kusari-Lila in this meeting was a bone of contention for a long-distance clash between two former close associates.

“Today we had a consultative meeting. At the beginning, we expressed our reservations for the participation of the two uncertified parties in this meeting “, declared Abdixhiku in front of the media, referring to the participation of Donika Gërvalla and Mimoza Kusari-Lila in this meeting.

There was no lack of reaction from President Osmani to this statement by Abdixhik, who in the end said that “she decided who to invite to the consultations”.

“Regarding the presence of Mrs. Donika Gërvalla and Mrs. Mimoza Kusari-Lila in this meeting, I have set a standard since the first day of work. In this meeting, they represented the voice of the citizens in the parliament. Ms. Gërvalla represents an entity from which 8 deputies have emerged, and Ms. Kusari has represented herself. I also invited Mr. Pacolli. I also invited all representatives of minorities. In the end, I am the president and he decided who I invite to consult with me as the first of the state “, said Vjosa Osmani, among others./Telegrafi
