Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani gave details about today’s meeting with German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
She wrote in a Facebook post that relations between the two countries have been and will always remain strategic.
“I stressed the great need for the continuation of this support in Kosovo’s path towards membership in important international organizations, the provision of new recognitions, as well as visa liberalization for our citizens,” Osmani wrote.
In an excellent reception and substantive meeting with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier we discussed the relations between our two countries, which have been and will always remain strategic.
At the meeting I thanked President Steinmeier for the continued support of Germany in good and difficult days and in particular for the support towards the consolidation of the international subjectivity of our Republic. I stressed the great need for the continuation of this support in Kosovo’s path towards membership in important international organizations, the provision of new recognitions, as well as visa liberalization for our citizens.
We discussed various topics today and the focus was also on cooperation to increase German foreign investment. Furthermore, we discussed Kosovo’s commitment in the field of regional cooperation, as well as the interest in signing some important bilateral agreements with Germany.
Discussing the importance of regional cooperation for the European perspective of the Western Balkans, I stressed that the Berlin Process has been a powerful impetus in this regard.
I emphasized that any other idea that aims to be parallel to the EU enlargement and the Berlin Process, undermining the principle of equal participation of the Western Balkan states, will not have the support of the Republic of Kosovo.
Endless gratitude for the encouraging words and the constructive and extremely promising conversation!
