Vdes ish-kryeparlamentari Kolë Berisha

Former Speaker of Kosovo, Kole Berisha died today as a result of a serious illness.

Kole Berisha was vice-president of the Democratic League of Kosovo and speaker of the Kosovo Assembly from March 2006 to 2007.

The news of his death was announced by his son, Visar Berisha.

His full post:

Early this morning our husband left us!

After a long-standing serious illness, we were taught not to surrender to me, today my father manfully agrees to surrender to God in the next life.

More than pain, I have a sense of relief for his body, which has suffered so much in the mournful silence.

Due to the serious epidemiological situation and the measures that are in force today, we will not be able to arrange to see the father.

Tomorrow, on 30.08.2021 at 11 o’clock, in the Mother Teresa Cathedral in Prishtina, the Mass of Light for the father will be celebrated, while at 13 o’clock will be the burial with the close family circle in the cemetery of the city of Prishtina.

I know that many of you want to be close to our pain, but your health and the health of everyone else is more important.

Remember our father and us in prayer, from where you are.

We receive condolences over the phone.

The first day of the Parliament showed that the trumpet is a miracle! The second day brings more games and songs

Trumpeters quietly play an old, good folk song. They call for a word, near the Monument to the Trumpeter, in the center of Guča, in the heart of Dragačevo. Guests, parliamentarians, hosts are coming.

The center of the town is crowded and everyone is breathing as one – we haven’t gathered for a long time, in Guca.

Along with the sounds of the parliamentary anthem Sa Ovčara and Kablar, the prangija, the parliamentary flag was raised by the host of this year’s parliament. There is also Dejan Petrović, the music editor of this year’s festival, but above all a great artist and trumpet master, whose love for this instrument grew and developed in Guca.

“It is a great honor for me to be here among my family, but I also feel a great responsibility towards my father and grandfather, from whom I learned everything. This is Guca, this is Serbia, “Petrovic said.

There was something for fans of the good written word. The Book Fair has opened. For art connoisseurs and art lovers, art exhibitions are also open at the Trumpet Museum.

And that the Dragačevo Trumpet Festival has a future, and that it still has many decades of successful holding and gathering ahead of it, is also shown by the competition of youth orchestras. We got the best in this category:

Third Trumpeter – Mladjan Krstic from the Mladjan Krstic Orchestra, Zaguzanje

The second trumpet player – Stefan Mladenović from the orchestra of Stefan Mladenović, Požega

The first trumpet player is Aleksandar Ilić from the orchestra of Aleksandar Ilić, Stubal.

The third is the orchestra of Miroslav Đunisijević, Arilje

Second, Braće Ilić Orchestra, Čestobrodica

The first, the orchestra of Stefan Mladenović, Požega.

A round was played, the real, folk! The concert spectacle was held by the Ensemble of Folk Dances and Songs of Kosovo and Metohija “Venac” from Gracanica.

The spectacle of Daniel’s trumpet interspersed with the sounds of violin and flute

The concert of the trumpet orchestra of Danijela Veselinović, accompanied by Jelena Urošević (violin) and Neda Nikolić (flute), ended the program on the stage of the Cultural Center, the first, very successful, parliamentary day.

How good her trumpet sounds was also shown by the present members of parliament, who returned her to the encore twice, shouting: “More!”

This year, the organizers decided that only the best sound of the trumpet and the masters of their “craft” deserve a place at the Dragačevo Trumpet Festival, and Daniela certainly did.

Concert contents started on the main stage

On the main stage at the stadium, the concert was held by the winners of the 59th Dragačevo Trumpet Festival: Timočki veseljaci, Elvis Bajramović and Siniša Stanković. Immediately after them, Dejan Petrović played with his Big Band, great as always, a real “Dragačevac” on the trumpet.

The trumpet playing in Guca was prepared by trumpet orchestras, finalists of the 60th Dragačevo Trumpet Festival as part of the Midnight Concert. They will fight for the prestigious parliamentary awards at the final competition of trumpet orchestras on Sunday, the third parliamentary day at 3 pm, on the main stage at the stadium.

Program of the second assembly day

That trumpet, Dragačevo, is strange, its sound has magical power. He invites to the trumpet word on the second day of the assembly, when more good music, folk songs and games and concert contents await us.

At exactly seven o’clock, the famous saboteurs will be awakened by the famous, traditional trumpet alarm clock. The ceremonial parliamentary parade of participants through the streets of Guca is scheduled for noon. Within the “People’s All-Around”, the strongest will compete in four disciplines: high jump from the place, long jump from the place, throwing a stone from the shoulder and shooting an apple through the ring.

The best toastmasters will compete in saying the parliamentary and traditional toast, and the most beautiful folk costume, men’s and women’s, will be proclaimed at this year’s Parliament.

The Academic Cultural and Artistic Association “Ivo Lola Ribar” from Belgrade will present a set of games, and then the guests from the Czech Republic, HarMàlek Orchestr, will organize a concert for the members of parliament.

On the main stage at the stadium, from 9 pm, the RTS choir and symphony orchestra under the direction of Bojan Sudjić will have a concert. Afterwards, Ambassador Guca, trumpet master Boban Markovic and his son Marko will play.

At the end of the second day of the assembly, the trumpets of Dragačevo, local orchestras of Dragan Pavlović and Marko Trnavac will be heard.

WINTER IS COMING! Temperature lower by 15 degrees, followed by icy days

The jubilee 60th Trumpet Festival in Guca, which is scheduled from August 13 to 15, does not yet have the permission of the Crisis Staff for maintenance, although there are only six days left until the beginning!

The reason for that is the worsening epidemiological situation, so the Crisis Staff decided that the Parliament will be held only if the number does not exceed 1,000 infected people a day and with strict epidemiological measures.

Strict controls

Only vaccinated people will be able to come to Guca, those who have had a crown in the last six months or with a serological or PCR test not older than 48 hours.

The organizers of Guca believe that there will be a Parliament and they are preparing all epidemiological measures in detail.

And a barbecue on hold

The Republic Crisis Staff, which has not yet given permission to hold them, is in charge of approving the events that gather more than 500 people, including the Leskovac Barbecue Festival.
If the Crisis Staff gives the “green” light, the Leskovac Barbecue Festival, the 31st in a row, will be held from August 23 to 29, and the engagement of pop stars and bands will pay for the city. and further in the extension of Bulevar oslobođenja.

Two weeks ago, we sent the Crisis Staff our plan of measures to hold the jubilee, 60th Trumpet Festival. We do everything to keep the safety of the parliamentarians to the maximum and that is why we are introducing controls. The first checks will be on the approaches to Dragacevo from the direction of Cacak, Lucani, on the mountain Jelica, from the direction of Kraljevo and Ivanjica. There, the wardens will control whether the visitors have the necessary confirmations. If there is no one, the employees from the Health Center in Čačak and Lučani will take a free serological test at each checkpoint. The second detailed check is at the entrance to Guca itself, which will be fenced, and there will be a control at each entrance – the president of the municipality of Lucani, Milivoje Dolović, explained for the Informer.

Along with these measures, the number of visitors will be significantly reduced, Dolović announces.

– We expect from 30,000 to 50,000 people, and so far, on average, between 150,000 and 200,000 visitors have come. We are preparing and we hope to have information on Monday what has been decided. Everyone, from trumpeters, singers to caterers, we want this jubilee Parliament to be successful, but the health of the nation is in the first place and if the Crisis Staff decides not to have it, we will respect that – says Dolović.

Member of the Crisis Staff and epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon said that the only way to hold the Assembly in Guca is for the organizers to respect all the measures they promised and for there to be no drastic increase in the number of newly infected.

The number of patients in hospitals is growing

In Serbia, the number of infected people is growing day by day, and due to the difficult clinical picture and the large number of unvaccinated citizens, covid hospitals are being filled again! In the last 24 hours alone in our country, out of 10,521 tested, the virus was confirmed in as many as 564 people. The percentage of infected in relation to those tested is 5.36 percent. At the moment, 609 patients are being treated in hospitals, and that number is increasing every day. Of these, 12 are in serious condition and are connected to a respirator.

The Trumpeters’ Assembly has not yet received a maintenance permit from the Crisis Staff. Such a set is high risk with such a number of newly infected. And they can get our consent only if they provide everything they said. The organizers of Guca and the municipality of Lucani sent us a letter in which they wrote that no one who had not been vaccinated or tested would be able to enter at most 48 hours before, as well as that they would provide testing points. Also, no other festival planned for the second half of August has yet received permission from the Crisis Staff to hold it – says Kon.

Jump infected

Epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović reveals that the Crisis Staff has ready measures if the number of infected continues to grow.

– If the number of infected increases above 1,000, we must be stricter with measures. Therefore, the restrictions will apply to large events and festivals. So far, it has been shown that the Exit festival went well, because the security protocol is strictly respected. But if the number of infected people jumps sharply, the question is what will happen to the Parliament in Guca – Prof. emphasizes. Dr. Tiodorović.

Skopje: 25 years in prison for those accused of the April 27, 2017 attack on parliament

July 26, 2021 – 17:24

The Judicial Council of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje found the accused guilty in the “Organizers of April 27” case and sentenced them to a total of 25 years in prison.

The trial panel concluded that those accused of the crime of “terrorist endangerment of the constitutional order and security of the country” are guilty of organizing the events on April 27, 2017. It is about the former Speaker of Parliament Trajko Veljanoski, former Minister of Transport Mile Janakieski, former Minister of Education and Science Spiro Ristovski and former director of the DSK secret police, Vladimir Atanasovski.

25 years in prison for the accused

The attack on the Assembly and the beating of MPs and journalists by the protesters of the “For a Common Macedonia” initiative took place on April 27, 2017, after an Albanian, namely Talat Xhaferi, was elected Speaker of the Assembly by the parliamentary majority. According to the Prosecution for Organized Crime and Corruption, the defendants knew exactly what they were doing and caused unrest with the sole purpose of preventing the formation of the government by the parliamentary majority already secured, reports Deutsche Welle.

Former Speaker of Parliament Trajko Veljanovski sentenced to 6 years and 6 months, former Minister of Transport Mile Janakievski to 6 years and 3 months, former Minister of Education Spiro Ristovski to 6 years and 5 months and former director of the secret police with 6 years in prison. Former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and former intelligence officer Nikola Boskovski were also involved in the investigation, but the proceedings against them have been suspended until they become accessible to prosecutors.

The defendants received lower sentences for the offense for which they were charged, because during the trial they cooperated with the investigative bodies.

Trpkov: The violence of April 27 has nothing to do with democracy

Judge Ilija Trpkov during the sentencing said that the attack and violence that occurred on April 27, 2017 in the Assembly of Northern Macedonia has nothing to do with democracy and patriotism.

“The state is defended with heart, mind and right strategies. “If for any decision with which we do not agree, we enter by force in court, assembly or any state institution, then we can not have the rule of law”, said Judge Trpkov.

The prosecution has requested that the house arrest be terminated for the convicts and that they be sent urgently to serve their sentences.

In the trial “April 27” were charged a total of 33 people, of which 5 deputies. The convicts are a total of 16 people, while others have escaped punishment thanks to the law on amnesty, adopted in 2018.

Pujemona, Tony Comino and Clara Ponsati won seats in the European Parliament in 2019, where they received immunity as MEPs, reports AP.

400 deputies voted for the abolition of Pujmon’s parliamentary immunity, 248 were against, and 45 abstained.

Pujemon and several of his colleagues fled to Belgium in October 2017, fearing arrest after referendum on the independence of Catalonia which Spain declared illegal.

Pujamon’s legal team is planning to appeal the waiver of immunity before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

All are the subject of European arrest warrants issued by Spain, which is requesting their extradition in connection with their role in organizing the referendum on independence in 2017, which the Spanish court considers illegal, Reuters reports.

Belgium has so far rejected Spain’s requests. A court in January refused to extradite Luis Puig, another former member of the Catalan government living in Belgium, on charges of misuse of public funds.

Various leaders on the independence of Catalonia have been convicted in Spain on the same charge of rebellion in 2019 and sentenced to up to 13 years in prison.

Police fire tear gas as thousands of anti-government protesters gather in Belgrade for a fourth night.

Thousands of Serbs protested on Friday for the fourth time in a row against President Aleksander Vucic and his government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Protesters opposing a ban on mass gatherings despite an increase in virus infections attempted to storm the Serbian parliament in central Belgrade by throwing bottles, stones and torches at the police who were guarding the domed building and removing its metal fences.

The police first used their shields to push the protesters back and prevent them from entering the building.

But after repeated attacks, they fired tear gas to disperse the crowd and then fought battles with protesters.

Several people were arrested and many reporters injured, mainly in attacks by demonstrators.

This week’s demonstrations were initially fueled by frustration over economically stifling measures to contain the pandemic, but soon turned into anti-government rallies with attendees calling for Vucic to resign.

Earlier on Friday, Vucic said he was not worried about losing political power amid protests seen as the most intense since the overthrow of former Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic in 2000. Instead, he expressed fear that the protesters would spread the virus.

“It is so irresponsible to call on people to gather and demonstrate when we are faced with the most terrible number of coronavirus infections,” Vucic told reporters during a state visit to France.

“I ask people, please, let’s protect our health. Nobody will take power by force. Power is taken over in the elections. You can protest as much as you want when the epidemic is over, ”he said.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic announced the highest daily number of deaths since the Balkans pandemic began at 18 on Friday. She said 386 new confirmed cases were registered in the past 24 hours. That’s more than 17,300 confirmed cases and 352 deaths since March.

She said “hospitals are full of sick” and urged people to “respect the measures in place” to limit the spread of the virus.

Critics say the government’s decisions to allow the resumption of soccer matches, religious festivals, parties and private gatherings in May and the general election on June 21 are responsible for the renewed surge in infections. Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) largely won the vote.

During his nearly three-year tenure, Vucic has cemented tremendous power in the presidency, a role that was previously only ceremonial.

The riots on Friday came after a peaceful protest on Thursday – although there was also violence earlier this week.

The protests began on Tuesday when the president announced that Belgrade would be placed under a new three-day lockdown after a second wave of confirmed coronavirus infections.

They carried on despite Vucic’s suspension of plans to enforce the lockdown. Instead, his government has banned gatherings of more than 10 people in the capital.

Serbian officials denounced the protests as an attempt to overthrow the government and weaken Vucic’s position in the European Union-mediated negotiations over Kosovo, a former province whose 2008 declaration of independence Belgrade does not recognize.

The European Parliament is calling for the introduction of a minimum wage in the EU

The principle that poverty disappears with employment does not apply in low-income sectors, as well as for those who work in precarious and atypical working conditions, MEPs pointed out, calling for the introduction of a minimum wage and equal working conditions for all.

The resolution on reducing inequality, with a special emphasis on poverty despite employment, was adopted at the plenary session with 365 votes in favor, 118 against, with 208 abstentions, the European Parliament announced, Hina reports.

MEPs supported the Commission’s proposal for an EU directive on minimum wages, assessing it as an important step to ensure that everyone can earn a living from their work, and called on the Commission and Member States to include poverty prevention in the EU’s overall goal of ending poverty. to those already employed.

It was pointed out in the discussion that the directive should ensure that the prescribed minimum wages should always be above the poverty line, and that employers should not deduct expenses such as accommodation, mandatory clothing, tools, personal protection and other equipment from the minimum wage.

Working conditions should be the same for everyone, including those working through digital platforms, which is why MPs cited the legislative framework on minimum working conditions for all workers as an important element in combating “poverty despite employment”.

That legislative framework would also include forms of work in the digital economy that are often characterized by uncertainty.

Existing labor laws and social security provisions, as well as the possibility of collective bargaining, should also apply to workers in the sector, the resolution said.

During the debate, it was warned that 95 million Europeans live in danger of poverty, despite the fact that the European Union is one of the richest areas in the world.
