The ceremony marking the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag began with the singing of the anthems of Serbia and Republika Srpska.
The date, September 15, was chosen for the commemoration Day of Serbian unity, freedom and national flagbecause on that day in 1918 the Thessaloniki front was broken through.
This holiday was celebrated for the first time last year, on Sava Square, near the monument to Stefan Nemanja in Belgrade.
On today’s holiday work has begun on the construction of the highway section from Bijeljina to Rača they started in Velika Obarska, not far from Bijeljina. The Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, proposed that this section of the highway be called the “Highway of Serbian Unity”.
