Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis will receive the third dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine next month, shortly before the parliamentary elections.
His vaccination will come a day before the country goes to the polls.
Polls show Babis is the Czechs’ favorite.
However, he has been harshly criticized for his health policies during the pandemic by Pirate Party opponent Ivan Bartosh.
“This is the biggest defeat of the Czech government,” Bartos said, adding that “hundreds of thousands of elderly people have not yet been vaccinated.”
About 65.5% of Czech adults are fully vaccinated, according to information provided by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
More than 30,400 people have died from Covid-19 in the Czech Republic since the start of the pandemic, in a country of 10.7 million.
