The Kosovo Pavilion is inaugurated on the Venice Biennale for 2021

Today was the solemn inauguration of the Pavilion of the Republic of Kosovo in the 17th International Exhibition of Architecture at the Venice Biennale. In this edition, the Republic of Kosovo is represented by the well-known artist and architect Maksut Vezgishi, with the project “Contein temporary”, conceived and curated based on the general theme of the Biennale “How will we live together”.

According to the author of the work ‘CONTAINER’ is a large open ‘object’, intended for loading various ‘CONTENTS’. It has extraordinary shape, function and design. It is located in every municipality. Around this container remains open the landscape of buildings built to be eternal. Specifics offered by ‘NEW OPPORTUNITIES’ of use, spaces for experimentation, socialization, reflection, activism, hope, new ideas, fantasies and goals.

The curator and author of the exhibition, Maksut Vezgishi emphasizes the naming of the installation entitled “Container”, dividing it into the phrase “container” and “contemporary” with the allusion to the contemporary everyday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Ceku, accompanied by the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Rome, Mrs. Lendita Haxhitasim. They praised the dignified representation of Kosovo in the international cultural scene and stressed that the Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo remain committed to supporting the work of artists in promoting Kosovar culture and art globally.
