A lightning strike killed at least 11 people and injured several others in the northern city of Jaipur on Sunday.
The victims were taking selfies in the rain on top of a watchtower from the 12th-century fortress at Fort Amer, a popular tourist attraction.
About 27 people were in the tower when the incident occurred and it is learned that some of them were thrown to the ground.
Lightning strikes have killed an average of 2,000 Indians since 2004.
A senior police officer said most of the victims were young./a2cnn
