22 years ago, numerous Serbian police, military and paramilitary forces in Beleg, Deçan, killed and massacred 49 Albanians.
This is one of the largest massacres carried out by Serbian paramilitary forces, who in 1999 launched a savage offensive against the population of Irzniq and Beleg, a day after they were defeated by the Kosovo Liberation Army.
Even today, the fate of the 33 missing in this village and other villages in Deçan remains unresolved.
Although investigative teams, first from UNMIK, then EULEX, had taken up the case, gathering numerous pieces of evidence, witness statements presented directly to the Hague Tribunal, but also the autopsy of the bodies of the crime, until now no one has been arrested./express
