At least 25 people have lost their lives in three suburbs of Mumbai after a landslide from heavy rain.
This was announced by the official authorities of India, while rescuers used their hands to dig the ground and find bodies, writes Reuters.
Within the last 24 hours authorities have so far reported 11 incidents of collapsing houses or walls in the Mumbai area.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a post consoled the relatives of the victims while offering help to all those affected by this disaster.
Several areas in the city were flooded after heavy rains over the past 24 hours and suburban train services were disrupted, thus undermining India’s main funding.
Mumbai and the coast of India’s industrial state Maharashtra are expected to have heavy rainfall over the next four days, the weather department said on Sunday. / klankosova
