The second-in-command of the Canadian military has resigned after playing golf with the country’s former defense chief, who is under investigation for sexual misconduct.
Lieutenant General Mike Rouleau said that he invited General Jonathan Vance to play golf for his well-being, reports Klan Kosova.
In his previous role, Lieutenant General Rouleau had authority over military investigators investigating the case against Gen Vance.
Lieutenant General Rouleau said the pair did not speak to the details of the investigation.
But he acknowledged that his decision had “intensified recent events and contributed to a further decline in confidence” in the military.
General Vance, who retired in January, has denied the allegations allegations of sexual misconduct.
News about the golf game erupted last weekend in some local media.
