Former commander of Svecla: Xhelali stayed 10 days in the war, fled with the refugees to the mountains – Latest News
The current Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, wore the uniform of the Kosovo Liberation Army for only ten days.
After these days he had left his duty as a soldier in the KLA and had fled to the mountains together with the refugees.
This is what the commander of Sveçla, Skender Tahiri, who was the platoon commander, said in an interview for Infokus.
Tahiri claims that Minister Sveçla had been a KLA soldier in the village of Klina, in Skenderaj, respectively in the Baranaj neighborhood, but then joined the column of refugees who were fleeing to Albania.
“He was in the third company in the Baranaj neighborhood, but he only deserted for 10 days and I don’t know. He came and reported as a military man, we gave him duties and he left after 10 days as far as I can remember “, Tahiri said.
He even says he gave him no reason before leaving the war.
“He did not give any reason for his departure, he fled to the mountains together with refugees, as far as I know he even joined the column”, says Tahiri.
That Sveçla was a deserter soldier was also said by the PDK deputy, Bekim Haxhiu.
“He was in the area where I was. Xhelal Sveçla is a deserter. He was in August of ’98, at the point of Berant in Klina i Epërm, and in September he left “, declared Haxhiu. This whole debate started after the violent arrest of the former chairman of OVL-KLA, Faik Fazliu.
