The Basic Prosecution of Prishtina reacted after the conference of the Kosovo Institute of Justice (KLI), in which it was said that the Basic Prosecution of Prishtina has failed to exercise its competencies and responsibilities, to provide security and protection to women who was killed in the “Emshir” neighborhood of Prishtina.
It was said at the conference that the 42-year-old is a victim of negligence of Kosovo institutions, namely the State Prosecutor.
In its reaction, the Prosecution has considered as untrue allegations the statements made at the KLI conference, as it is said that the State Prosecutor is and will remain open to cooperate and accept any professional criticism from civil society.
Full response of the Prosecution:
The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, reacts to the Kosovo Institute of Justice (KLI) regarding the allegations raised that “The Basic Prosecution in Prishtina by inaction violated the right to life of Sebahate Sopin”.

We once again assure the opinion that the Prosecution, based on its competencies and authorizations, has taken all necessary legal actions in handling this case with professionalism and efficiency.
Therefore, the allegations raised by the Kosovo Law Institute (KLI) are completely untrue and unfounded in any case file of this case.
The State Prosecutor is and will remain open to cooperate and accept any professional criticism from civil society, but I will always deny such unsustainable, unprofessional and tendentious allegations which aim to damage the work, image and creation of citizens’ distrust in the State Prosecutor Institution.
