The President of Kosovo declared a day of mourning on Monday due to the tragic accident that occurred yesterday in Croatia, while she also interrupted her official visit to Japan in honor of the victims of this accident.
Ten people from Kosovo lost their lives and over forty were injured when the bus they were traveling in went off the road in the Croatian town of Slavonski Brod.
The bus with 67 passengers, including children, had left Frankfurt for Pristina.
According to Croatian media, 15 of the injured are in serious condition, including a little girl. Two of them are in intensive care.
Some of the injured are expected to be released from the hospital today.
The driver of the bus of the Kosovar agency “Deva Tours”, reported to the Croatian Police that he had fallen asleep for a few seconds. He has been arrested.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti and some ministers and mayors went to Croatia yesterday to see the situation closely with the injured.
Kurti called the accident a disaster and a tragedy.
