UN praises Albania after becoming Security Council member: Voice of small countries and women around the world – Latest News
Our country will serve for the first time in the UN Security Council, in a key period, where the rhetoric is dominated by the current crisis in Israel, the conflict in Ukraine, Syria, North Korea, Iran, issues of poverty, inequality, warming global, racism, etc.
175 countries, out of 129 needed, trusted our country with this important responsibility, while in its pre-voting brochure, the Security Council praised our candidacy as “the voice of small countries and women”.
In an official document published on June 2, the UN describes in this form the Albanian candidacy, reports ATSH.
“Albania is committed to bringing to the Security Council the perspective of a small country, with a responsible and multilateral foreign policy. “Albania’s campaign is focused on 5 key priorities: women’s rights, peace and security, human rights, the fight against violent extremism and global warming”, writes the UN.
