WB: Financial restoration requires debt discount in poor international locations

Overcoming the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic requires international cooperation and debt reduction in poor countries, according to World Bank (WB) President David Malpass.

“Some of the countries are seeing a strong recovery now. This will help everyone else, we all benefit from this “, explained Malpass, referring to the global economy, reports ATSh.

“But in order to have a resilient recovery, we need growth to come from the poorest countries,” he added.

According to the head of the WB, a key element in achieving this is to make debt levels more stable, which means they need to be lower.
