On social networks there are some old photos of the entrance of Prishtina from Veternik. The photos were taken 30 years ago.
An explanation about the name Veternik must first be given. It is said to be derived from the word “vetar” which from the Croatian language means “wind”, ie a place where the wind blows.
The road coming from Veternik towards the center of Prishtina is known as a steep slope and it used to be very difficult to drive in this part.
The preserved images show the cobblestone road and the few buildings in that part and a greenery along this road.
Today this part is over built and there is no greenery at all.
