Government measures to prevent coronavirus are being met with deaf ears in the middle of the capital, where there is a large number of police officers and inspectors.

A violation of the measures also occurred with an urban bus in Prishtina, which was overcrowded with passengers.

In a photo published by the Neighborhood Observers in Prishtina, it is seen how in this bus the passengers not only occupy all the seats of the bus, but also stand.

We recall that with the recent decision of the Government of Kosovo, road transport operators are allowed to work using only 50% of the capacity of the seats.

Rashit Qalaj, former director of the Kosovo Police has reacted after the talks in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia under the leadership of the European Union envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, it was decided that the northern part will continue to be controlled by KFOR.

He said on the ATV show “CONTEXT” that he does not agree with KFOR forces taking on the role of monitoring the roads in the north of the country, adding that it is not necessary for Kosovo to go back several years.

“It’s strange how it is published before an agreement is reached, if that is the case. I think that informing the public on the points that have been discussed before the agreement is reached, I think that it is not good, at least it hurts the Kosovar side who are in dialogue. On the other hand, I welcome any agreement, but I am against KFOR forces taking over the role of monitoring the roads there from the Kosovo Police. I think that if there is no need for the Special Units to stay on the roads leading to the border crossings in Brnjak and Jarinje, then the ordinary police, traffic police and border police and other ordinary units should gradually patrol those roads, initially reinforced with the Special Unit and gradually the Special Unit officers withdraw. There is nothing wrong if a KFOR patrol stays there, but the Kosovo Police should be responsible all the time because it is also responsible according to the law and the constitution and there is no need to go back a few years to clear our roads. “Patrol and monitor KFOR,” he said.

Qalaj further added that it is the duty of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Government of Kosovo to coordinate with the international political spectrum for such police operations as the one in the north of the country.

“For police operations, the police do not need to coordinate with the international political spectrum, but this is the task of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Government. “As for the cooperation with the Security Institutions in this case, EULEX and KFOR in the past there has been cooperation, but there has never been a request from the Kosovo Police to engage EULEX and KFOR”, said Qalaj.

Today, the national medal is flown in front of every institution in Bor, and the representatives of the local community called on the citizens to take over the Serbian state flag from the City Hall and display it in a visible place in their homes, in order to express the unity of the Serbian people.

About a thousand flags with the Serbian coat of arms were provided for those who wanted to take it over.

“Our intention is to mark and point out the significance of this date in a special way.” Serbia, in which we live today, needs unity the most, which, after all, built our country, enabled prosperity and progress, which keeps us gathered around the national symbol, the Serbian flag. That is why it is necessary to always and everywhere emphasize it with pride, said the mayor of Bor, Aleksandar Milikić.

VJ

“A beautiful picture from the city of miners was sent today, and the waving of our tricolor almost everywhere, along the main streets of Bor, in front of every institution, on housing units, symbolizes the unification of the Serbian people around the national symbol, the flag of the Republic of Serbia.”

LET’S DEVELOP TRIO COLORS! Congratulations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Serbian Unity Day holiday!

– Last night, an unpleasant smell like gas started to be felt, mostly in the hallway to the third floor. We are all upset, because it reminds us of the case of the building that happened in December last year in the settlement of Krčagovo – says one of the tenants of the building no. 72 and reminded that the tenants complained for a month that gas was being felt, but that none of the authorities reacted, and then there was an explosion in the apartment, which injured and destroyed several apartments.

According to the tenants, last night, this morning and today, they came from “Uzice Gas” to check the situation.

– We checked everything and everything is fine. This is not gas, it feels something else. I’d rather say it’s from some gas bottle. You saw, the measurements showed that everything was fine – the worker of “Uzice gas” explains to the tenants.

Firefighters left, as did employees of Uzice Gas.

– In this building, four tenants introduced gas and measurements were made there, but it turned out that there was no danger. They also measured at the connections leading to the building, and there was no increase in the concentration of gas. They also measured on the sewer, and again there is no increase in the gas concentration. Just in case, I opened the wing at the top of the building to air the hallway – says another tenant of the building.

The tenants withdrew to their apartments, but they are still asking from the window what the authorities said. They are encouraged by the statements of the employees from “Uzice Gas”, but still anxiety remains as long as the gas is felt.

Heavy rain followed by thunder again hit the municipality of Ivanjica in the afternoon. Heavy rains have completed the already started roads in the villages of Gledjica and Vucak at the foot of the Golija mountain, and many households have been completely cut off again. Water also spilled on the main city streets.

With today’s new precipitation, the situation has become even more alarming. What was repaired in the previous two days has now been washed away again. The damage to the road infrastructure is multimillion – stated the president of the municipality of Ivanjica, Momcilo Mitrović.

RINA

At the moment, a dozen roads are impassable, and after the precipitation stops, the mechanization will go out on the field, as well as the commission for damage assessment.

We need to enable these people to function normally as soon as possible. First of all, repair the roads to the villages where the elderly and the sick live so that they can receive the necessary medical help. Many patients from the village come to Ivanjica for dialysis. Further rehabilitation will certainly take another month, we have not yet completed the regular embankment and repair of roads that we planned in the budget, and this storm will happen to us, which will create chaos in several local communities. – said President Mitrović.

RINA

The municipality of Ivanjica has not yet fully recovered from last year’s flood, and a new catastrophe has befallen it. The torrential floods caused the greatest damage on the roads, but also in the small towns in the villages of Medjurečje, Kumanica, Bratljevo, Erčege, Vučak and Kovilje in Podgolje, and only seven days ago the city destroyed potatoes in Močioci, where 100% damage was done.

Mitrovic says that he must not even think how much material damage it would have been if a huge amount of anti-hail rockets had not been fired.

More than 30 rockets were fired yesterday alone, over 300 have been fired in Ivanjica since the beginning of the anti-hail season, which is a huge number if we know that on average 200 to 250 rockets are used during the entire anti-hail season. – said the first man of the municipality of Ivanjica.

WINTER IS COMING! Temperature lower by 15 degrees, followed by icy days

The attack on Nikola Perić upset the inhabitants of Goljbulja. The village streets are deserted. The aunt of the beaten boy, Jelena Perić, says that the pressure to move Serbs from Gojbulja continues.

We are afraid to let the children on the street, but we cannot even lock them in their houses. Their message is to move out, but I don’t think they can do anything, because we will never leave here. We will fight, but we will not move. We are living people and we need someone to protect us – said Perić.

The residents of Gojbulje point out that they have been suffering attacks on property and damage to agricultural properties for years, but that attacks on children exceed all limits and tolerance.

Today, I feel like 2004 with this event. Tensions are currently rising on all sides. There are children in question, but what if one of us seniors was nearby and there was a lurking conflict that could have escalated. It is terrible and worrying and we need to work seriously on this problem.

People who are elected and receive a salary to seriously deal with problems, to show that we all have a place where we are. Language, faith, symbols and the cross should not bother anyone. I don’t mind any flag, landmark, or other religious building, but I want mine to be protected – said the representative of the village board of Gojbulja, Bratislav Kostić.

Gojbulja is a multi-ethnic village with 36 Serb houses and 90 Serbs. During the war and after the arrival of international civilians and military forces in Kosovo, the villagers were exposed to constant pressure and attacks. Three Serbs from Gojbulja were abducted in 1998 near Belaćevac, while in 1999 three brothers from the Mihajlović family were abducted. Two people from the village were killed in 2000, in a car on the way to Mitrovica. In the same year, Dragan Perić was killed on his property with a firearm.

French hospitals have hired additional staff for the Easter weekend to cope with the expected increase in the number of coronavirus patients.

As the new variant of the virus spreads rapidly, and intensive care units are packed as in April last year, the government has closed all schools and introduced new restrictions that took effect Sunday across the country .

6,600 police officers are stationed in Paris to enforce new restrictions, which include a ban on moving more than 10 kilometers from home, a ban on gathering six or more people outside, and a nationwide curfew from 7 p.m. : 00.

On the Mediterranean coast near Marseilles, police patrolled the beaches today and fined people who drank or did not use masks during the sun.

The crowds filled the train stations in Paris on Friday evening and the masses headed towards the village. The National Railways Administration SNCF says it expects 600,000 people to travel over the weekend.

France ranks first in Europe and fourth in the world in terms of the number of patients with 4.8 million cases. It is the eighth deadliest in the world, with more than 96,000 deaths from COVID-19.

The unusual wave of frost in Texas has caused major problems for residents.

But unusual temperatures in the region have brought another unprecedented phenomenon: hundreds of bats have filled the streets, dying from the extreme cold, leaving millions in Texas without electricity or drinking water.

Houston is home to a permanent Mexican bat colony that gathers under a downtown bridge. This species is not accustomed to sub-zero temperatures, which it can not resist.

During Tropical Storm Harvey, we lost nearly two-thirds of this colony. The bats that survived the hurricane came back and repopulated the bridge. They rebuilt their colony, but now received another strong blow.

Authorities have already warned residents not to touch bats on the streets, dead or not.

Shpend Ahmeti speaks after the criticism about the condition of the streets on election day

The mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti spoke today after the criticism of the citizens about the condition of the streets on the day of the elections, on February 14.

He said that the night before the elections and on the day of February 14 they were engaged in clearing the snow because the ballots had to be sent to the villages as well.

“We were engaged in clearing the snow because the ballots had to be sent to the villages… it snowed too much because we knew that they would immediately say they did not clear them or you wanted not to vote.”

Ahmeti said that there was no center that was delayed in Pristina.

“Even in fact, every citizen who wanted to vote was able to vote,” said Ahmeti.

The head of Pristina said that even in European countries citizens complain about such issues and this according to him is not only about Pristina.

“We have 2,200 roads in the snow and we can’t clean them all in 30 minutes. “You can not throw salt when the temperatures are minus”, said Ahmeti.

The large amount of snow on the streets of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti reports

After numerous criticisms for the roads not cleared of snow in Prishtina, the mayor of Prishtina, Shpend Ahmeti, reacted.

According to Ahmeti, “dozens of trucks and cleaning machines have been engaged since the beginning of yesterday’s rain to clear the snow”.

But, Ahmeti says that without stopping the rain can not be completely cleared of snow.

His full reaction:

Dozens of trucks and cleaning machinery have been engaged since the beginning of yesterday’s rain to clear the snow. Other companies have been called in to help. All this knowing that today almost all citizens will turn to the ballot boxes.

You can also read the news from European capitals when it rains so much. Even though it is constantly cleaned, we still know that without stopping the rain can not be cleaned completely.

Since the evening we have been in contact with the MEC to unblock the roads in the villages.

So all night hundreds of people, the maximum commitment of all teams to clean the streets.

At 11 o’clock with the percentage of citizens who had gone to the polls, they also accused us of obstructing the process as if someone had ordered snow. At 15 o’clock the exit is bigger than in 2019. Now the roads are normalized.

We will accept and analyze the criticism. We do not have more trucks and we do not have more people. We have not had more hours at night and we have no influence on the amount of snow.

With the hope that all those who want to vote have not been hampered by the snow, we wish the parties success in this election. The same situation has been and is in the cities where they govern if not worse.

We thank the citizens for their understanding and we continue with the cleaning tonight.
