The Turkish government wants to vaccinate 60% of the population against the coronavirus by early autumn.
But many of Turkey’s 83 million people live in rural areas and some even in almost inaccessible places.
Zejnep Eralp and her team are climbing difficult terrain to vaccinate Altindere villagers against Covid-19. The village is located about 2,000 meters above sea level, in the mountains of eastern Turkey.
Vaccination of people living in remote villages is important because “people in villages live next to each other and if someone here has an infection, it will spread very quickly.” – says Dr. Zenepe Eralp, who is responsible for the vaccination mission./eo/
