Turkey reports 43,301 new cases of COVID-19

In the last 24 hours, Turkey has registered 43,301 other cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), including 2,703 symptomatic patients, with which the total number of confirmed cases with this virus in the country has exceeded the figure of 4.71 million, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).

According to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of deaths from coronavirus also increased to 39,057, with 346 victims registered within the last day.

About 45,592 more patients won the battle against the virus, bringing to over 4.16 million the total number of patients cured of the pandemic.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Turkish health authorities have conducted over 46.43 million suspected tests for COVID-19, including 282,192 tests performed over the past day.

Recent figures show that currently the number of patients affected by COVID-19 in critical condition is 3,549.

Since launching the massive vaccination campaign on January 14, Turkey has administered almost 22 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, including about 8.45 million citizens who have already received both doses of the vaccine.

Turkey will implement a complete blockade from Thursday evening until May 17th, a blockade that will cover the rest of the month of Ramadan, as well as the three days of Eid al-Fitr.

Since December 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic has claimed over 3.12 million lives worldwide. According to data from the US-based Johns Hopkins University, over 148 million cases of the virus have been reported worldwide so far, including over 85.7 million patients who have won the battle against the pandemic./Anadolu- AA
