As of March 13, 2020, the first two cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Kosovo. From then until today 151, 621 citizens tested positive for COVID-19.
On March 22, the first victim of the coronavirus was recorded. Since then until now there are 2 thousand 919 citizens who have died as a result of infection with COVID-19.
The country is still facing the deadly virus. Even in the second half of August, Kosovo faced a higher number of the Delta variant, for which the government was forced to take restrictive measures to prevent an increase in the number of deaths but also infection with COVID-19.
Restrictive measures which entered into force on 30 August and will be until 26 August.
The Kosovo National Institute of Public Health (NIPHK) recently reported two deaths and 133 new cases of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, anti-COVID-19 vaccination is continuing in Kosovo.
1,226,063 doses of the vaccine have been given since the vaccination process. While 474,783 citizens were vaccinated with the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
