Seizure of 9 kilograms of cocaine, reacts Minister Sveçla

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, reacted to the seizure of 9 kilograms of drugs at the border crossing in Vërmicë, saying that Kosovo will be neither a center nor a transit center for the production or distribution of drugs.

He stressed that the Government of Kosovo remains steadfast in the fight against organized crime and that the police is ready to bring to justice all persons who are part or collaborators of crime.

“Kosovo Police, in addition to the maximum commitment in compliance with the Covid-19 measures, continues to work in the fight against organized crime. Thanks to the cooperation with the Albanian Customs and Police, last night at the border crossing in Vërmicë were confiscated about 9 kilograms of cocaine. In this regard, two suspects have been arrested for the criminal offense “Unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution and sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances and analogues”, and the same are now in custody. We continue to emphasize that Kosovo will be neither the center nor the transit of the production or distribution of such substances. “The Government of Kosovo remains steadfast in the fight against organized crime and the Kosovo Police remains committed and ready to bring to justice all persons who are part or collaborators of crime,” wrote Sveçla.
