Before the start of informal talks of the EU Council, Borelj warned that Navalny’s health is deteriorating.
“We issued a statement in which, on behalf of the 27 member states, we ask the Russian authorities to provide health care to Alexei Navalny. They are the answers for his safety and health condition,” Borelj said.
He announced that the first item on the agenda at today’s video conference of EU foreign ministers will be Russia, as in terms of the state of Navalny so too because of the “accumulation of Russian troops” on the border with Ukraine.
“EU relations with Russia are not improving, but tensions are rising in various areas,” Borelj concluded.
